Japanese dance shows and acts

Japanese dance performances in a variety of styles. Traditional dances and dances with twist of contemporary styles.
Performing Japanese dance choreographies in Nihon buyo, Basara, Kagimata mai and Bon odori.

 

The dance shows are usually 10 - 12 minutes long but can be custom designed specifically for your event or venue. The styles of the shows can reflect your idea as such as the time lenght, costume styling or prop selection.  If desired, a dance workshop, or interactive dance (with audience participation) may be included.

The Japanese dance is performed in vide variety of costumes and accompanied with various traditional dance props such as sensu - Japanese folding fans, kasa - umbrella or cherry blossom and wisteria branches or a small shi-shi lion and contemporary dance props such as veil fans, sword and masks.


Ajna’s dance repertoire contains popular Japanese stage dances as Gion Kouta, a dance describing four seasons mirroring Geishas life. Horai, traditional dance in nihon buyo style in choreography of Nishikawa dance school and other choreographies Ajna had studied under this Japanese dance school.

Basara style folding fan dance inspired by the work of Taichi Saotome or a umbrella dance featuring dance derived from Gion's Maiko kasa dances.

  • This program introduces the participants to the world of japanese dance. Obon dances are full of fun and easy to learn. You don't have to be a dancer to fully enjoy this offering. No previous dance experience is required.
    You will learn such a japanese hits like Tanko bushi or Tokio bushi and more.

    This is an interactive program featuring Origami making, Folding fan acrobacy, and more.
    Fun, creativity, and team building are at the core of this fun filled experience.
